Music Editor

The music editor allows players to add their own tracks to Dance World, adjust their rhythmic parameters, and submit compositions for review by the administration.

Jipi Currency and Limitations

Temporary Image 1: Jipi currency.

The currency used to upload songs is Jipi. Initially, the system provided 5 free uploads per month, but this monthly allowance was disabled due to the large number of tracks being added. Additional Jipi can be obtained by leveling up your character.

If a player has unused Jipi remaining, they can accumulate. For example, if there are 3 Jipi left at the end of the month, and 5 new units are credited, the balance will be 8 Jipi.

Each uploaded track undergoes review. Until the review is complete, the track is available for play, but it does not grant personal or club experience. However, progress related to hearts for a wedding or party still counts. The review period typically takes from 2 to 7 days, but may increase during periods of high load.

Uploading music is available to players level 30 and above. With a premium subscription, the feature is available from level 1 and does not require Jipi.

Audio file requirements:

  • Format: MP3;
  • Quality: no lower than 192 kbps;
  • Duration: from 115 to 500 seconds;
  • Content must be a musical composition.

Music created with AI is allowed, provided it does not violate the game rules, community guidelines, laws, or the rights of third parties.

Opening the Editor

Before uploading, make sure you have the latest launcher and the latest version of the game installed.

Adjusting the Rhythm

Temporary Image 9: Rhythm settings.

To successfully pass the review, it is necessary to correctly specify the BPM and Offset. BPM determines the tempo of the composition, while Offset sets the rhythmic grid offset relative to the audio. The editor has a built-in metronome that helps match the game’s rhythm with the musical beat.

The pink line indicates the position of the Perfect score. You can zoom in and out of it and use it for more precise playback. The and buttons allow you to shift the Offset by a quarter step, which is useful if the Perfect point is not at the beginning of the rhythmic sequence.

During playback, you can press the spacebar to check the accuracy of the rhythm. A separate button toggles preview mode.

The more accurately the BPM and Offset are set, the higher the likelihood of consistently achieving Perfect scores and passing the review.

You can determine the BPM yourself. It is recommended to use specialized programs such as Traktor DJ 2, or find the BPM value in open online sources.

Filling in Song Information

Before submitting a track, you must fill in the metadata. To pass the review, it is important to follow these rules:

  1. Enter the correct localized song title. The Latinized version is created automatically.
  2. Specify the language of the title according to the ISO 639-1 standard, for example, ru, en, or zh.
  3. Indicate the source of the audio file: a link to where you obtained the MP3 or to the composition page on a music service.
  4. Check the BPM and Offset. These values are taken from the rhythm settings.
  5. Specify how many steps it takes for the dance to begin. One step corresponds to passing a ball along the track. The standard value is 8, the minimum is 4.
  6. Specify the genre. Multiple genres can be specified using commas.
  7. If the track was created with AI, it may also be accepted if it complies with general requirements for content and usage rights.

After filling in the information, click “Upload to server.” 1 Jipi is debited from your balance, the track is sent for review, and immediately becomes available for play with the limitations mentioned above.

Content Requirements

The track you upload must not violate the game rules, community guidelines, or the laws of the Russian Federation. Materials that provoke aggression or contain insults based on race, religion, orientation, and other protected characteristics are prohibited. Profanity is allowed if the composition belongs to the category of musical works for adults or explicit versions.

The upload function may be blocked for repeated violations, violation of upload rules, or a request from the copyright holder to remove the audio file.

Correcting Errors

If a track does not pass the review, it can be edited, replaced, or deleted. You have one week to make corrections and resubmit. If no changes are made, the track may be removed, and access to music uploads may be restricted.

To return to a track, open the editor, go to the music in the game, select the desired composition, reconfigure the parameters, and resubmit it for review.

Downloading Songs from Other Players

Songs added by other players can be downloaded through the song cloud in the lobby or waiting room. After selecting and launching a composition, it is automatically added to the library of other players.

Deleting and Replacing a Track

Since April 11, it has been possible to delete your own track. To do this, open the song in the editor and click the corresponding button. A strike is not issued for deleting, but the spent currency is not refunded.

Replacing an audio file is done through the editor. Open the desired track, select a new audio file, and click “Save.” The new MP3 file must have a different name: if the old and new files have the same name, the replacement will not work. If the replacement is successful, the system will send a notification.

If an error occurs during editing, open the game settings and click “Force database song update.”

Global Offset

In the June 25, 2021 update, a global Offset setting was added. This is needed if your audio output device creates latency, causing the rhythm to feel off.

Setup instructions:

  1. Open the music editor.
  2. Select a track that has already been uploaded with known rhythm.
  3. Start playback and listen to the metronome.
  4. Adjust the global offset until the metronome and rhythm match.

The global offset applies to overall playback and helps compensate for the latency of a specific device.
